The driving question my partner and I came up with was : What ethical patterns influence the relationship between an Alzheimer's patient and their caretaker? Some revisions we made was our creative piece. Originally, we created 2 brains but we decided to create an Alzheimer's homecare by using a board. What I found out is that doctors lie to Alzheimer's patients so that the caregivers and the patient won't get stressed out. I learned a lot because my partner and I used credible sources while researching. Also, I learned that for our creative piece we needed to be more creative instead of using the brains. which is why we created the homecare and through our SLR, we learned a lot because of the interview that my partner and I created. During our collaborative process, it went well. We did not get into any arguments because most of the time we agreed on most things. I think we would have redone the bottom of the board and make it look nicer. One piece of advice I would give to a future student that it doing Symposium in the future is that, Symposium is stressful so make sure to manage your time perfect. So DO NOT procrastinate! 

Throughout this time, my partner, Ruby, and I learned more of what the Alzheimer's taker has to go through. We learned that the Alzheimer's caretakers go through stress and some even go through depression. Because they go through this, they send their loved ones to a homecare where they take care of their patients 24/7. This is if they have the money to send their loved ones in those types of homes. If they don't have the money, then they have to deal with the stress and the depression and they have to take care of their loved one. This experience has showed me that I do well work with others because the both us compromise on what we both want to do. For our board, we both want to paint it purple because that is the color of the Alzheimer's Association and we want to create brain scans to show the difference between a normal brain and an Alzheimer's brain. We plan to create a Alzheimer's homecare so that we can show everyone why caregivers send their loved ones to these types of homes and how they get taken care of 24/7. We need to make sure that we manage our time management. Both my partner and I are working perfectly and we have not gotten into any arguments. 

Since the last time I wrote about my research, my partner and I had to change our topic. Instead of it being about the cure to Alzheimer’s disease, the topic is about the caregivers for someone who has Alzheimer’s disease and how they feel. The reason we had to change is because our mentor, Ms. Park, thought it would be best to switch topics so that our project could be more interesting. My partner and I decided to do an interview. We will be interviewing my dad’s aunt who is a caretaker to her husband, who has Alzheimer’s. We decided to do an interview because we want to see the perspective of how it feels to be a caregiver to someone with Alzheimer’s disease. What was easy about this process was making the interview questions and what was difficult about this process was having to change our topic. Because we changed our topic, we needed to find more articles and research more. Some things we need to do is research more about the caregivers who are helping someone who has Alzheimer's. We need to successfully do well on our ISD and our SLR. My collaboration with my partner has been going well. We both have the same ideas on what we want to do.   ​

One of the articles that my group found, explains the changes in the brain for people with Alzheimer’s, how it affects loved ones, etc. This relates to our universal theme, Change, because throughout the process, the brain changes. Also, a loved one's everyday routine changes due to someone that has this disease. From reading this article, I learned that typically the first sign of someone having Alzheimer’s is when they start to forget many things. I also learned that Alzheimer’s mostly affects older adults. Our group did not change our topic, universal theme, or generalization because after researching this topic, both my partner and I found an interest in trying to see if there is a cure to help treat someone with Alzheimer’s. We hope to see if there is a cure to help treat Alzheimer’s. Also, we want to find out how it affects loved ones. Does it bring the family closer together or farther apart? Those are the types of questions my partner and I have. The collaboration between my partner and I has been working very well. Since we both have the same interest in researching this topic, we have been able to cooperate more and see each other’s opinions. ​
